To type directly with the computer keyboard:

• Type aa (or A) for ā
• Use uppercase to type the letters with a dot: M, T, D, N, R
• Type G or ng for ṅ & J for ñ
• Or type = for the Latin letters with diacritics
• Type + for the nasalization mark ᱸ (mũ ṭuḍăg), ++ for the vowel modifier ᱸ (găhlă ṭuḍăg), +++ for the nasalized vowel modifier ᱸ (mũ găhlă ṭuḍăg)
• Type an underscore _ for the vowel prolongator ᱻ (relā)
• Type an hyphen - for the separator ᱼ (phārkā)
• Type ' for the aspiration ᱽ (ohad)
• Type a full stop . for the end of a sentence ᱾ (mucăd) and twice .. for the end of a section ᱿ (double mucăd)
