Instructions

To type directly with the computer keyboard:

• Type th, ph, kh, ps for θ, φ, χ, ψ
• Type a space key after s to change the final letter σ into ς
• Type b=, k=, s=, f= for the special characters
• Type j (or è) for η
• Type u (or y) for υ
• Type w (or ô) for ω
• Type an apostrophe to get an acute accent; example: a' for ά
• Type an apostrophe several times to get the other diacritics; example: a'' a''' a'''' to get: ὰ ᾰ ᾱ
• Type & for a circumflex accent (may appear in the form of a tilde); example: a& for ᾶ
• Type h (or -) for a rough breathing; example: ha for ἁ
• Type hh (or --) sfor a smooth breathing; example: hha for ἀ
• Tyoe rh to get ῥ (and rhh for ῤ)
• Type an apostrophe after the breathings; example: ha', ha'' and hha', hha'' to get: ἅ ἃ and ἄ ἂ
• Type = to add the iota subscript; example: a= for ᾳ
• Type ï and ü for ϊ and ϋ then an apostrophe to add a diacritic mark

Punctuation

• Type ? to get the Greek question mark ;
• Type ; to get the Greek semicolon ·

Greek font

Ancient Greek requires a special font.
